A while back I posted about premium lubricants, K-Y’s Intrigue and then the $50-dollar-a-bottle Kiki lubricant.
Not to be left out, Astroglide has its premium lubricant as well: Astroglide X. Since Kiki is in a price point all to itself, it’s safe to say Astroglide is competing with Intrigue. As with perfumes, the premium stuff is as much about the packaging as it is about the product, and Astroglide X does not measure up to K-Y here. Both the packaging and the name itself are highly reminicent of Axe Body Spray (not exactly the most premium of men’s colognes). What’s more, K-Y seems to have moved on to Yours+Mine as the focus of their “expensive lubricant” business, leaving Astroglide behind the curve.
But enough about marketing, stand by as I save up to afford premium lubricants, so I can do some product comparisons.
