People love silicone-based lubricants because they last and last and last. But not everyone loves the way it can last forever as a stain on your sheets. The first thing to keep in mind, is that you can’t let the clean up go too long. With silicone, the longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to clean. Next, a great feature of silicone is its water-resistnace. This is great for intimacy in the shower or pool but does pose a challenge for cleaning. Too thoroughly clean up silicone-based lubricant, you might want to think about a product that can cut through grease.

Not sure that the has much bearing on anyone outside of Macgyver, but apparently silicone-based lubricants are inflammable if directly exposed to flame. I’d just like to point out though, that if they’re aren’t exposed to flame, they last infinitely longer than their water-based cousins.
