Swiss Navy lubricant has a small share of the market. Small to the point where I wouldn’t normally have remarked on it, but I was struck by the fact Swiss don’t have a Navy. Perhaps there was an interesting story here, like there was with Gun Oil brand lubricant? There is no explanation. It seems like they just merged Swiss Army with Old Navy, which seems rather disapointing. Leaving me to conclude that I’ll take Gun Oil over Swiss Navy any day.

I try to give as much of a sense of the different types and brands of personal lubricants that are out there, but ultimately the best way to find out about a lubricant that sounds interesting or to find the lubricant that’s best for you is to actually take it for a spin. Fortunately, one of the great personal lubricant secrets is the number of sample size lubricants that are out there (sometimes even for free).
Cheaplubes.com has an entire section devoted to samples, many of which go for under a dollar.
What’s more, if you go straight to a particular brand’s website, they will often offer you a free sample, usually after you fill out a form or a take a survey.
ID lubricants is one example, but there are many more out there.
