Why Astro?

Ever wonder where the Astro comes from in Astroglide? The glide part’s pretty self-evident: it’s a lubricant; it helps with the gliding. But the Astro? Is it a Jetsons reference? Or perhaps it has something to do with a baseball team in Houston? Actually, the cosmic name reflects the personal lubricant’s genesis as a by product of research for the space program, just like that other famous space program spin off—velcro; only instead of making things stick together, Astroglide does just the opposite.
